MINISTER of Education Honourable Douglas Syakalima has come under fire over remarks he made during a parliamentary committee hearing about a fortnight ago. The minister was trying to make a point that the academic progression rate in Luapula Province is worrying, more so because this is the same province that has stagnated in terms of development in comparison with other regions. The manner in which he expressed his concern, however, has left our Bemba speaking brothers and sisters offended on account that he sounded more scornful than concerned.
