JUST a few days ago during the 2026 National Youth Indaba, President Hakainde Hichilema’s made some very important remarks which we can echo on this day as we commemorate Youth Day. His speech touched on several issues that matter deeply to young people: sexual violence, early marriage, corruption, political participation, tribalism and the need for youths to vote. These are all the right issues to raise before a national youth gathering. In fact, if one listens carefully, the President was trying to speak directly to the everyday realities facing young Zambians.
