Mr Brian Mundubile says if he is elected president in August, he will bring back the Ministry of Religious Affairs. We respect the fact that the opposition leader was speaking when he addressed congregants at Shalom Embassy Ministries International Church. We also know that this statement was meant to attract some votes from the church members and the wider Christian constituency. However, this is one campaign promise that, in our opinion, is not necessary. When we look back into the reign of the Patriotic Front and examine how our country was governed with the Ministry of Religious Affairs in place, we don’t find any development that can be attributed to it. If anything, what we saw was confusion and segregation....
