PARAMOUNT Chief Chitimukulu is right to be disturbed by the culture of insults that has taken root on social media. Our country’s young generation is increasingly losing touch with the African traditions that taught restraint, respect for elders and responsibility in speech. Social media has made this worse. Hidden behind keyboards and phone screens, people insult chiefs, politicians, journalists, clergy, businesspeople and complete strangers without provocation and often without consequence.
