FORMER Lusaka Archbishop Telesphore Mpundu says the mealie meal crisis being experienced in the country is as a result of incompetence by the current administration. Yesterday, Shoprite country general manager Charles Bota said the chain store was restricting the sale of 25 kilongram bags of mealie meal to one bag per person until the situation normalizes. Bota said there was need to have a letter from authorities should anyone wish to purchase more than one. And in an interview, Archbishop Mpundu insisted that the current situation could lead to unrest if not adequately and urgently addressed. “All that is happening just shows the incompetence of the present administration.
