A 16-year-old boy has appeared in the Lusaka magistrate court for allegedly raping and attempting to murder a 25-year-old woman.
Keith Chemu was acting together with former Zambia National Soccer team head coach George Lwandamina’s son Mofya; who committed suicide.
The duo allegedly tied, beat and raped the victim who sustained multiple cuts on the neck and chest.
Chemu appeared before Lusaka magistrate Albert Mwaba for explaination of the charges.
Chemu, a pupil from Libala area, is also facing a charge of aggravated robbery.
It is alleged that on December 22, 2017, Chemu whilst armed with a knife stole a Microsoft Lumia cellphone valued at K7,5000 the property of Stella Ngoma and or immediately before or after did use or threaten to use actual violence to the said person in order to obtain or retain the property or overcome resistance from it being stolen.
In the second count, the accused on December 22, 2017 jointly and whilst acting together with others unknown had unlawful carnal knowledge of the victim.
Parrticulars of the third count state that on the same date, Chemu whilst aacting together with other persons unknown did attempt to murder the said woman.
According to the police, the assailants also stole K400 and a Samsung phone, belongings of the victim.
Mofya committed suicide by consuming a poisonous substance.
