THE Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on Tuesday sent away a delegation from the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, telling them that their submissions on various queries cited in the Auditor General’s report were not convincing. The Auditor General’s report for the financial year ended December 31, 2022, revealed that a review of land applications and offer letters which were issued showed that 85 individuals were offered land for which they did not apply. The report further indicated that it was therefore questionable, how offer letters for land were issued to individuals without evidence of applications.
