ENERGY Minister Peter Kapala has assured the nation that there will be no load shedding despite the reduced water levels at the Kariba Dam, insisting that the country is importing power. Recently, the Zambezi River Authority (ZRA) announced that it had allocated 16 Billion Cubic Meters of water to be shared equally between Zesco and Kariba Hydro Power Company for power generation in 2024. The authority urged power utilities to consider alternative sources of power in order to fill any power generation deficit that could arise due to the lower water allocation at Kariba for 2024.
