THE Lusaka Magistrates’ Court has denied bail to former Judiciary Stores officer Precious Nkunika and her mother, pending their appeal against five- and two-year sentences, respectively. Nkunika was recently sentenced to five years for stealing a baby at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH), while her mother, Grace Siska, received a two-year sentence for harbouring the stolen baby. However, the duo appealed to the Lusaka High Court against both the convictions and sentences. They also applied for bail pending appeal.
