LUSAKA businessman Sedrick Kasanda has asked the Lusaka High Court to grant him leave for the issuance of a writ of habeas corpus. Kasanda wants the Lusaka High Court to issue a writ of habeas corpus directing the officer in charge at Ridgeway Police Station to present him before court immediately after receipt of the writ. He has argued that he was being detained illegally without any justifiable cause and without charge of any offence from the time he was re-arrested after a nolle prosequi was entered in his favour in a case he was charged with espionage.
