FORMER defence minister Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba has renewed his application for bail pending appeal against a five-year sentence. Recently, Mwamba asked the Economic and Financial Crimes Court, High Court Division, to grant him bail pending his appeal against the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court’s judgement. In the supplementary skeleton arguments in support of summons for renewal of admission to bail pending appeal filed in the Lusaka High Court Principal Registry yesterday, Mwamba’s lawyers stated that his serious health issues should be considered exceptional circumstances.
