GOVERNMENT has announced that it has delivered 100 percent of the Compound D fertiliser and 98 percent of the Urea fertiliser procured under the Direct Input Supply (DIS) modality for the 2024/25 farming season. In a ministerial statement delivered in the National Assembly, Tuesday, regarding the delayed distribution of farming inputs for the 2024/2025 farming season, acting Agriculture Minister Peter Kapala revealed that government had also delivered seeds to various districts of the country. “In the 2024/2025 farming season under the DIS modality, government has procured 42,775.20 metric tonnes of Compound D and 42,775.20 metric tonnes of Urea, at an estimated cost of $71.8 million.
