A STATE witness has testified before the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court that he did not see any theft in the case where former First Lady Esther Lungu and five others are accused of stealing motor vehicles. Charles Hakuwa, an Assistant Police Commissioner at the Zambia Police Service Headquarters, told the court that Furhana Patel, one of the complainants in the matter, informed him that the incident was a family matter. This is in a matter where Esther is jointly charged with James Phiri and Lee Chisulo, both police officers, along with Kapambwe Lungu and Edgar Lungu’s niece Catherine Banda, for the theft of a motor vehicle.
