THE Zambia Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) has noted that wage stagnation, high taxation under the PAYE threshold and the ever rising cost of living have remained a critical concern for workers. ZCTU has, on the other hand, commended government’s commitment to upholding the rule of law, but notes that concerns still remain over the perceived selective application of the law. Meanwhile, ZCTU says workers expect government to prioritise sustainable energy sector policies, with a focus on renewable energy and affordability.
