THE 2023 National Energy Access Survey (NEAS) has revealed that 53.6 percent of the households at national level have access to electricity, translating into an estimated number of 2,208,284 households. And the Survey reveals that a total of 2,332,782 households in Zambia are not connected to any electricity source. In a monthly bulletin recently, ZamStats acting Statistician General Sheila Mudenda disclosed that at provincial level, Lusaka Province had the largest percentage share of households with access to electricity, at 84.8 percent followed by Copperbelt at 81.7 percent. “Access to electricity remains a key priority for households in Zambia.
