MOPANI Copper Mines PLC has apologised to Kankoyo UPND MP Heartson Mabeta for stating that the law maker’s claim that he had scheduled a meeting with its CEO Charles Sakanya was untrue and baseless. Mopani has since retracted its media statement published last Wednesday, under the headline: “Untrue media statement on Mopani meeting peddled by Kankoyo MP”. Mopani says in the said statement, it erroneously reported that Mabeta had not arranged any meeting with Sakanya.
