THE Lusaka High Court has convicted and sentenced a Kabompo business executive of Manyinga area in North Western Province to life imprisonment for aggravated robbery and murder of a taxi driver whom he had booked to take him to Mumbwa in 2018. Charles Kavindele Muwema booked Zechariah Jere from Tandika taxi rank near town centre in Lusaka to Mumbwa, Central Province but the latter went missing until his bones were discovered by a farmer who was cultivating her land many months later. No eye witnesses saw Muwema murdering Jere but circumstantial evidence linked him to the crime as he was found to have been in possession of the motor vehicle which he then gave to his pastor whom he owed...
