IBA accountant Francis Chipyoka and two police officers pleaded not guilty in the Lusaka High Court yesterday to the murder of IBA Director General Guntila Muleya. Justice Vincent Siloka also entered a not-guilty plea for their co-accused, Samuel Dokowe, a systems engineer, who was unable to talk due to illness. Meanwhile, Justice Siloka granted an application by Samuel’s lawyer, Chawezi Ngoma, for a medical assessment to determine Samuel’s fitness to stand trial. In this case, Chipyoka, 42, is jointly charged with M’Thusani Baza Dokowe, 29, a police officer; Alex Caleb Zulu, 30, also a police officer, and Samuel Baza Dokowe, 37, an engineer.
