THE Committee on Local Government Accounts has heard that Masaiti Town Council paid Manchila Engineering Limited about K388,000, to built a classroom block, but installed a defective solar system. And the local authority says the said contractor is unable to repair the faulty solar system. During the committee hearing, Tuesday, Acting Committee Chairperson Mischeck Mutelo, who is also Mitete Constituency member of parliament, wanted to find out when the local authority would address the matter. “You engaged this contractor who installed the solar, then it defected.
