JUST when the nation thought a resolution had been reached over the funeral of former president Edgar Lungu, we are once again plunged into confusion, accusations, and a breakdown in trust. This back-and-forth is not only deeply regrettable but profoundly troubling. What was supposed to be a dignified, united farewell to a former Head of State has become a theatre of confusion, political posturing, and emotional fatigue for the nation. The Lungu family’s decision to halt the repatriation of the former president’s body is a serious indictment on the government’s handling of this matter.
