THE South African High Court, Gauteng Division, has set Friday, August 15, as date for hearing of former president Edgar Lungu’s family’s application for leave to appeal its ruling which allows government to repatriate and bury Lungu at Embassy Park. On August 8, the Court also ordered that the funeral service provider, Two Mountains, holding the remains of Lungu, surrender the body to a representative of the Zambian government. However, Lungu’s widow, Esther, and the family filed an application for leave to appeal the judgement, arguing that the court had erred in allowing government to repatriate Lungu’s remains.
