DIRECTOR of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Gilbert Phiri says it is unfortunate that every legitimate action by the Judiciary is politicised as targeting. Phiri says the National Prosecution Authority does not target anyone. On Monday, the Economic and Financial Crimes Court, High Court Division, ruled that late former president Edgar Lungu’s son Dalitso Lungu’s vehicles and properties worth over K23 million were tainted and proceeds of crime and should therefore be forfeited to the State. But Dalitso’s lawyer, Charles Changano, lamented that the Lungu family was being targeted as it had similar cases with the same line of judgment, arguing that the judgment would be appealed.
