THE National Prosecution Authority (NPA) says it will appeal against the sentence imposed on Kitwe-based businesswoman Khadijah Agatha Mingel, who was convicted for drug trafficking. On Wednesday, the Lusaka Magistrate Court sentenced the 36-year-old to three years’ simple imprisonment for trafficking in 500 grams of cocaine. Lusaka Senior Resident Magistrate Andrew Peter Mungala suspended half of the sentence, stating that Mingel will serve 18 months’ simple imprisonment effective from the date of arrest.
