IMF Head of Mission for Zambia Edward Gemayel says initial discussions for the IMF Extended Credit Facility successor programme for Zambia could begin as early as late April. However, Gemayel says despite a positive economic outlook for Zambia, early signs of slippage had begun to emerge related to among others, election‑related expenditures with regards to fiscal pressures.
