LUMEZI Town Council says it is considering prioritising students who have undergone Constituency Development Fund (CDF) skills development bursaries for recommendation to acquire empowerment under CDF grants and loans upon completion of their studies. Council Secretary Mary Sinkala has called on students sponsored by the local authority to pursue skills-related courses and consider collaborating by forming organised clubs and cooperatives, which they can use as a vehicle to apply for CDF empowerment. Sinkala is encouraging students enrolled under CDF bursaries not to be preoccupied with searching for jobs in government or the private sector upon completion of their courses, but to apply the skills acquired to become self-reliant by starting businesses.
