FOREIGN Affairs Minister Mulambo Haimbe says Zambians should ignore outgoing US Ambassador Michael Gonzales, stating that government has observed a deliberate shift away from diplomatic etiquette and an acrimonious change in his attitude. And Haimbe says the stalled negotiations on the Health MoU are due to terms government considers unacceptable, like the insistence on preferential treatment of US companies over Zambia’s minerals. He also says Ambassador Gonzales’ “disparaging” remarks on the appointment of ACC Director General Daphne Chabu are a testament that he lacks understanding of his role as a foreign envoy.
