THE Zambia Police Service has arrested a couple in Nchelenge District in connection with the murder of a one-year-old baby. Preliminary investigations indicate that 24-year-old Doreen Mpundu married 40-year-old John Chishimba in 2025 in Nchelenge, and it is alleged that Chishimba did not accept the child from Mpundu’s previous relationship. On the night of February 20, 2026, Chishimba allegedly became angry and headbutted the child, who lost consciousness the following morning and later died.
