PEP leader Sean Tembo says presidential candidate Chanda Katotobwe has failed to file in his nomination, as the party has been re-categorised as a church, whose principal activities are “ministry and preaching”. Meanwhile, National Congress Party (NCP) leader Peter Chanda has withdrawn from the 2026 presidential race. On Wednesday, Katotobwe and his running mate Tembo, presented their documents at the nomination centre, but couldn’t be validly nominated due to changes to the party’s office bearers.
