POLICE in Eastern Province have recorded an alleged Arson incident involving Kapoche independent aspiring candidate Stephen Miti’s driver Davis Phiri, whose vehicle, chitenge materials, cash and other items worth K126,130 were destroyed by a mob. In a statement, Eastern Province Commissioner Robertson Mweemba said Miti and his driver, after deciding to escort their members to Kainama Village in Sinda District, were mistaken for cattle rustlers. “I wish to inform you on the above subject matter, which was reported today 29th July, 2026 at 16:00 hours, which occurred yesterday (Tuesday) 28th July 2026 at around 19:30hours at Lemmy Village, Chief Kawaza, Sinda District.
