GOVERNMENT has enacted the Sports Council of Zambia (Amendment) Act, 2026, introducing sweeping reforms to the governance structure of national sports administration, with a newly reconstituted Executive Board at the centre of the overhaul. The amendment restructures the Council’s governance, establishing a broader Executive Board that now includes representatives from four key ministries: youth, sport and arts; local government; health; and education, alongside a representative from the Attorney-General’s office and four representatives from registered sports associations.
