THE Department of Immigration says it has detained five Ethiopians in Kapiri Mposhi and 47 other foreigners in Ndola and Lusaka. Meanwhile, the Department has fined a 46-year-old Zimbabwean man, Katrige Mbigi, K29,000 through the Kafue Magistrate Court. In a statement, Monday, Immigration Chief Public Relations Officer Namati Nshinka said the five Ethiopians were apprehended after being abandoned at a farm approximately two kilometers after Luanshimba checkpoint. “The Kapiri Mposhi Immigration Office has detained five Ethiopian nationals aged between 22 and 35 after they were apprehended by police near Manyumbi Checkpoint on Sunday, 13th September 2026.
