PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has chaired his first Cabinet meeting of the second term, which approved the framework for the 2027 Budget and 2027-2029 Medium Term Budget Plan. Secretary to the Cabinet Patrick Kangwa says government will now shift its focus from economic stabilisation, which characterised the previous five years, to growth under the “Grow Zambia Agenda”. The meeting, held at State House on Monday, also set out government’s medium-term economic priorities, which include creating jobs, maintaining single-digit inflation and a stable exchange rate.
