TONSE Alliance partner Muhabi Lungu says it is unethical and treacherous for NRPUP president Ezra Tembo to claim control over the party’s proportional representation (PR) seats when Brian Mundubile was the presidential candidate. Lungu argues that NRPUP’s PR seats came from votes obtained by Mundubile and questioned whether it is fair for someone who was not the presidential candidate to decide who gets them. Under Article 47(4) of the Constitution (as amended by Act No. 13 of 2025), PR seats are distributed by the Electoral Commission of Zambia to political parties in proportion to the total number of valid votes received by their presidential candidates.
