MOTORBIKE operators have opposed RTSA’s move to ban the use of motorcycles in the public transport sector, saying it will disadvantage them as well as commuters because they are the only available options in some areas. And some commuters have argued that what RTSA should focus on is regulation, such as ensuring that the usage of helmets is mandatory. Recently, the Road Transport and Safety Agency said that it would enforce the law against the use of motorbikes as a mode of public transport across the country.
