PUBLIC Accounts Committee Chairperson Warren Mwambazi has urged the Bank of Zambia (BoZ) and Ministry of Finance (MoF) to quickly find a way to stabilise the Kwacha. Commenting on the depreciation of the Kwacha, which is trading at over K26 against the US dollar, Mwambazi said BoZ and MoF should come up with a working mechanism on how they would mitigate the devaluation of the local currency. “We urge the Bank of Zambia to ensure with the Ministry of Finance that they come up with working mechanisms on how to mitigate the devaluation of the Kwacha to that effect.
