THE Zambian kwacha has gained strength against major convertible currencies, reaching K18.4 against the US dollar as at close of business yesterday. The K18 rate is the highest gain the country has recorded in years. In June 2023, the kwacha traded at about K17.75. Since then, it had skyrocketed to about K28 to a dollar. According to Absa exchange rate figures, the currency is currently buying at K18.4 and selling at K18.7. Zanaco exchange rates indicate that the kwacha is buying at about K18.8 and selling at about K19.2, while FNB rates indicate that the kwacha is buying at K18.8 and selling at K19.1 as at close of business, Thursday....
