A 23-year-old man of Lusaka’s Chipata Compound has admitted in the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court that he stole three pairs of underwear from Shoprite Zambia Limited valued at K79.99 because he didn’t have any under-garments at the time of the theft.

And a 35-year-old teacher of Lusaka’s Marrapodi area has appeared in the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court for defilement.

Particulars of the offence in this matter are that, Brian Bwalya, unemployed, on August 14, 2018, stole three pairs of underwear from Shoprite valued at K79.99.

When the matter came up for plea before Magistrate Brian Simachela, Monday, Bwalya told the court that he stole the underwear because he never had any.

“Yes, I stole the underwear because I never had any at the time of theft. I hid them in my short,” Bwalya confessed.

The matter has been adjourned to September 19, for reading of facts and sentencing.

And a 35-year-old teacher of Lusaka’s Marrapodi area has appeared in the Lusaka Magistrates’ court for defilement.

Particulars of the offence are that Michael Phiri, a teacher of Marrapodi, between January, 2017, and August 30, 2017, unlawfully had carnal knowledge of a girl under the age of 16.
