A 16 year-old Lusaka juvenile has appeared in court for allegedly walking past a police station while skimpily dressed.

In this matter, it is alleged that on December 22, 2018, the juvenile in the company of her auntie, 28 year-old Miriam Mwanza, publicly conducted themselves in a manner likely to cause a breach of the peace.

The two are remanded in custody.

It is alleged that on the material day, the juvenile wore a short skirt as she passed by Kamanga Police Station in the company of her auntie, and when an officer asked her why she was wearing mini skirt, the aunt challenged the officer for allowing another woman who was dressed in a similar manner to pass through earlier.

Her reaction to the police officer’s question allegedly led to the apprehension of the two.

And when the matter came up for plea before magistrate Chanda, the two denied the charge.

The matter comes up on January 14 for trial.
