JOSEPH Chiteta, a notorious serial killer, will next week appear in the Ndola High Court to answer offences of Murder, Aggravated Robbery and Rape.

In early 2020, Chiteta, who was an inmate at Mukobeko maximum security correctional facility, escaped from and allegedly raped and murdered nine women in Kabwe and Ndola.

Chiteta confessed having murdered the women after he was arrested and led police to the scenes of the crime on the Copperbelt.

Chiteta, 53, will now appear next week in the Ndola High Court for summary trial.

In count one, Chiteta is charged with Aggravated Robbery contrary to Section 294 which happened in Luanshya district.

In count two, he is charged with Rape contrary to Section 132 which happened on Luanshya district.

In count three, he is charged with Aggravated Robbery which also happened in Luanshya.

In count four, Chiteta faces murder contrary to Section 200 which happened in Luanshya.

Chiteta has been cause listed in the criminal session in the Ndola High Court to be held before lady Justice Yvonne Chembe starting Monday, March 14.
