THREE directors of Honeybee Pharmacy Limited who are charged with uttering a false document have refused to take plea and asked the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court to halt the proceedings against them and refer the matter to the High Court for determination of whether they can be tried twice for the same offence. They also want the magistrate to refer the question of whether the provisions of the Constitution have been complied with in the proceedings to the Constitutional Court. At the last sitting, Zakir Hussen Motala, Abdurruf Abdurahim Motala and Imran Lunat asked the court to set them free, arguing that they had already been acquitted of the same offence.
