THE Mongu High Court has set March 23, 2023, as the date for judgement in the matter in which former PF deputy secretary general Mumbi Phiri and former president Edgar Lungu’s barber Shebby Chilekwa are facing a murder charge. In this matter, it is alleged that on October 6, 2019, Phiri and Chilekwa in Kaoma, Mongu, jointly and whilst acting together, murdered Lawrence Banda. The accused were in October this year found with a case and were put on their defence. During their defence, eight witnesses testified including Chilekwa, while his co-accused, Mumbi, remained silent.
