AN Investigations officer has told the Economic and Financial Crime’s Court that the loan obtained by former justice minister Given Lubinda is what amounts to a proceed of crime. Friday Tembo, who is also Lubinda’s arresting officer, said the government of Zambia did not send any money to a Cotton company. Tembo told the court that there was no connection between the loan that was given to High View Investment and the Zambian government contract. The witness was testifying in a matter in which Lubinda pleaded not guilty to four counts of being in possession of property reasonably suspected to be proceeds of crime.
