ATTORNEY General Mulilo Kabesha has submitted to the Constitutional Court that the issues raised in a petition commenced by youth activist Michelo Chizombe, challenging former president Edgar Lungu’s eligibility to stand in future elections, have not been pronounced on. Kabesha argues that being the apex court when it comes to constitutional matters, the Constitutional Court has jurisdiction to review and overrule its previous decisions on the subject matter. He has also submitted that the current matter is not about Lungu’s eligibility per se, but rather, about the eligibility of any such person who has twice held office of President now and in the future.
