A MEMBER the UPND has filed a lawsuit against the State in the Lusaka High Court, seeking damages for false imprisonment and special damages totaling over K2 million. Chola Simwawa is seeking compensation for false imprisonment and malicious prosecution amounting to K1 million due to what he claims was a trumped-up charge of attempted murder. Additionally, he is demanding special damages of K1,080,000 for mental anguish, turmoil, and distress caused by the alleged malicious prosecution.
