THE Economic and Financial Crimes Court, High Court Division, has ordered that two properties belonging to former president Edgar Lungu’s daughter, Chiyeso, be forfeited to the State on grounds that they are tainted property. And the court says it will not create a dangerous precedent where individuals who acquire property or assets in illegitimate ways can simply point to their fathers when called upon to account for the properties. The Director of Public Prosecutions had applied to the Economic and Financial Crimes Court, High Court Division, to have properties linked to Lungu, his wife Esther and their children forfeited to the State.
