A 30-YEAR-OLD maid has appeared before the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court and pleaded guilty to stealing US$13,000 from her employer. In this matter, Violet Mwanza is charged with the offence of theft by servant, contrary to Sections 272 and 278 of the Penal Code, Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia. Particulars of the offence allege that Mwanza, on unknown dates but between April 1, 2025 and April 28, 2025, in Lusaka, being employed by Maybin Simbaye as a maid, did steal US$13,000 from the said employer.
