AN Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) prosecutor has appeared before the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court on charges of theft by public servant and destroying evidence. Elias Simfukwe, 30, a resident of Chalala area, is accused of stealing K20,000 cash from the ACC exhibits office, which came into his possession by virtue of his employment. Simfukwe has however pleaded not guilty before Magistrate Martin Namushi. In count one, Simfukwe is charged with the offence of theft by public servant contrary to Sections 272 and 277 of the Penal Code, Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.
