LOSING NRPUP Lusaka Mayoral candidate Gabriel Kibombwe has filed a petition challenging the election of UPND’s candidate Chitambala Mwewa as Lusaka Mayor. Kibombwe is also seeking a declaration that the election of Mwewa is null and void. Kibombwe has cited Mwewa as the first respondent and the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) as the second respondent in the matter. Mwewa polled 200,029 votes to defeat his closest rival, Kibombwe, who secured 195,041 votes.
