Zambia has scooped 2 FemBioBiz regional finalist places at the SA Innovation Summit currently taking place in Cape Town.

Bioentrepreneur Muzalema Maria Mwanza, put forward her ‘Safe Motherhood’ Innovation providing sterilized affordable baby delivery kits containing essential supplies a woman requires at child birth to ensure she has a clean, safe and hygienic delivery.

Godfridah Masaiti a pharmacy student at the University of Zambia School of Medicine scooped the student category with her product that delivers anti retroviral drugs through a transdermal patch. The two will represent Zambia at SLUSH, Europe’s biggest startup competition being held in Finland this year.

FemBioBiz Acceleration program attracted 32 participants from 8 SADC countries. WECREATE is country coordinator for Zambia and is excited to have produced 2 regional winners for Zambia through a highly competitive process.
