Zambia striker Brian Mwila has been ruled out of next weekends showdown against Nigeria.

Mwila is still recovering from a knee injury he sustained on September 2 in Zambia’s 3-1 home win over Algeria in a match he scored a brace.

“Brian (Mwila) will not be part of the team as he had a recurrence of the injury he suffered during the Algeria game. It is best to give him time to fully recover,” Zambia team Doctor George Magwende said.

The striker from South African PSL club Platinum Stars has been replaced by Power Dynamos striker Alex Ngonga and John Chingandu of Zesco United.

Mwila is also Zambia’s top scorer in 2017 with 8 goals from 9 matches.
